Sensory Friendly MI

Sensory friendly events that we are making through partnerships and all of their organizations.

Macomb Ballet Company

We envision a full-length performance in a relaxed daytime environment for children and adults of varying physical and cognitive abilities to experience the theater in a safe, fun and comfortable atmosphere. In addition to show modifications (lowering sound, house lights up slightly, loud sounds muffled), we would also like to offer tactile tables outside of the theater, a safe and quiet space for individuals to use if needed, and supplemental classroom materials such as visual checklists and social stories to ensure our patrons with differing abilities are set up for success.

Currently working on building the supports needed for sensory friendly theater experiences. Sensory supports will include: Sound blocking ear phones, fidget toys, designated quiet/calm space, Lower lighting, and snacks.
